SKOKIE, IL (August, 2016) – On Saturday, November 19th, The Blues Kids Foundation will proudly present in partnership with The North Shore Center for the Performing Arts Fernando Jones' Blues Camp Day. Through this fun-filled experience the Blues Kid as well as the adult weekend warrior will rehearse and perform Chicago Style Blues with like-minded others under the direction of highly qualified instructors. Blues Camp Day incluedes ensemble sections for both Blues Kids and adults culminating in a main stage all-ages concert performance open to the public. Blues Camp was founded by Fernando Jones. Jones is an internationally acclaimed musician, songwriter and educator. He is on faculty at Columbia College Chicago and is the founding Blues Ensemble director. Blues Kids Foundation is an IRS recognized 501(c)(3) nonprofit charitable organization. Donations are tax-deductible. We were established to preserve, perform and promote the Blues among America's youth, parents and educators under the tutelage of highly qualified instructors. Our focus includes Social & Emotional Learning, music literacy, pedagogy & andragogy, and Music as a Second Language. Each Summer we present Fernando Jones' Blues Camp throughout the United States, Japan and London.
